What's Poppin,

I’m zaebaer and this is blumoon. A social astrology app I designed using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe XD. 

The Process

Research

I started this project by browsing Pinterest for some quick design inspiration. Once I came up with an idea, I ran a content audit, comparing similar apps that reach my ideal audience. This process allows me to understand the current landscape of business/consumer relationship, user/business needs, & user behaviors within the niche. Once I conclud my research, I start creating the brand identity. 

Defining The Brand Identity

I create the Logo design first. Once I settle on a logo design, I find a unique color palette, and a font that speak to the overall vibe I want the app to have. 

Next, I sketch out a frame wire layout for the app. This is where I determine the flow, features, format, & structure of the app. this is achieved by drawing out on paper what the app should look like on screen. I sketch the layout, page flow, icons and any other ideas I might have for what I want to include in the app. 

Design and Prototype

I like to start creating the design in Adobe illustrator. Illustrator allows me to fully bring my frame wire sketches to life and buildout the look for each page I sketched out. 

When I’m happy with my design, I move the adobe illustrator file over to Adobe XD. This is where I link all the pages together, give my buttons & icons cool animations, and create a functioning prototype of the app.
