the design brief was to design a modern looking budget app that is not connected to any banks (manual entries).

Research

From there I did my research through interviewing potential users. From my research I found that one pain point is having to make a lot of manual entries over and over, and most options out there are missing the smart features that other, less private, options are providing.

Prototyping

I started with some paper prototypes, created sketches of multiple options of how the app should look like based on my research. I selected two options from there and started creating mid fidelity prototypes. I did some A/B testing just to get some feedback on what users might find to be the better design.

Then I created high fidelity wireframes and prototypes based on the test results.
