i'm a little late over here, but gong hei, gong hei! 🧧 the lunar new year is almost upon us! this holiday becomes more special to me with each passing year because i feel connected to my heritage and i love sharing the traditions.to celebrate, families can prepare many different dishes to enjoy together and each of them have a playful symbolism. these are some of my favourites:

🍊 clementines for luck and happiness, 🍜 noodles for longevity, 🐟 whole fish for abundance, 🥟 dumplings for prosperity, ⚪️ and “tong yuen” for togetherness and family!

everything here is pictured in a Chinese longevity bowl, even that poor fish that’s toppling out lol. historically these ceramics were strictly reserved for royalty, forbidden to commoners. but now they’re ubiquitous!happy new year to all those who celebrate, wishing everyone a happy and healthy year! 🧧🐰
