Redesign Pirates of the Caribbean Fandom [concept]

Now, bring me that horizon...

Pirates of the Caribbean has got a Fandom page. This Fandom page contains much information about the lore and characters. However, it looks and feels very outdated, especially when browsing different characters. This redesign creates a dynamic, interactive experience.

Current website

The old look is a little outdated. The website uses a lot of strokes, too many fonts, and doesn't invite the user to keep reading about their favourite characters. A large video frame takes up the main part above the fold, previewing multiple ads before the user even sees what he came for.Below the fold, follows textual information about the character which could easily be categorized in a better way. Nothing about this page is interactive, or shows any form of creativity.

New website concept

The new incarnation of Pirates of the Caribbean Fandom ditches the old look and feel in exchange for a modern, clean look. The page leads with a simple illustration from the character, and jumps straight into three main categories, each with a brief explanation. Better still, this redesign holds a lot of potential for low-key animations which could grab the eye and encourage a click on CTA's. The redesign is creative and functional; users can seamless scroll between characters, read more about the character or preview a trailer via a lightbox plugin.
