Website Development for Greek Restaurant Plato
Website Redesign to a scalable and future proof platform with it's goal of generating website traffic and restaurant bookings
Plato is well known to serve delicious Greek food and offer a great experience. However, Plato's previous Joomla website did not offer any type of great experience at all. It was very outdated, it wasn't responsive, and very little attention was being spend on UX.
Role
Rick Bierman Designs was responsible for the Website Redesign and some stages of the User Experience Design like Information Architecture, Wireframing, and defining the User Flow.
The problem
How to redesign the outdated website to attract new customers, generate more website traffic and more restaurant visitors?
The approach
The Design goal was to create a website which is easy to navigate, offers a clear User Interface and results in a greater User Experience. After defining the User Flow and Customer Journey it was clear to prioritise bookings. Existing customers should also have a reason to visit Plato's website, which is why an extensive photo library was built. If the clientele get their picture taken in the restaurant whilst having a fun experience, they will be more inclined to look it up later on the website and spread word of mouth.
The solution
The new relaunch was a massive success, their online bookings doubled in the first quarter and Plato received many compliments about their new website from customers.
