Pareidolia

A mixed-media installation that explores the phenomenon of pareidolia through the use of lines. Images projected onto a wall use colorblocking reminiscent of WWI-era dazzle camouflage to imply the existence of lines that are not there, forcing the viewer to engage in pareidolia to interpret the visual information before them. Red string connects the images as though they are physical and not virtual - a nod to our universal susceptibility to conspiratorial thinking and belief without evidence.
