L'atelier Collaboratif - Website redesign

This is a school project.

We were asked to redesign the website "L'atelier collaboratif".

The goal was to make the navigation more clear, intuitive and make the visual look more modern. I worked with 3 people on this project.

We were not totally free on this project, indeed, we had to keep the content and the navigation's structure.

It was required to design the following pages :

  • Homepage

  • Workshop list

  • Workshop page

  • Contact

  • Connexion

About L'atelier collaboratif

L'atelier collaboratif is a website about collaborative tools. It's a resources website where you can find different categories of tools, such as workshops, icebreakers, ideation, solve problems etc...

UX Audit

First of all we started by making an audit of the website.

Page by page, we noted all the UX / UI pros and cons.

The goal was first to understand how the website is made, how it works and what is the content and second, noticing the improvement axis, the things that works well or doesn't.

Thanks to this audit, we had a list of the main things we wanted to change.

Wireframes

After auditing the website, we started to iterate on different wireframes for the main pages : homepage, workshop list and workshop page. We used the crazy 8 technique to generate fast ideas of how it would look.

After debating and iterating on our creations, we validated the main wireframes.

Maquettes

We then started to design the maquettes, with colors etc...

We wanted to make the website more punchy, so we added colors and patterns. Our vision was to make the website look "creative". In fact, people that want to find collaborative tools often are linked with creativity in some way, we wanted it to stand out.

This is the result :

To compare, this is the live website now :

Conclusion

Working on this project was really interesting.

I learned how to audit a website, and using it to help me for the next steps of the redesign. I learned how to analyse and detect strengths and weaknesses of a website.

Also, it was an interesting experience to not start from scratch but use the content of a previous website.

What are your thought on the project ? 🤔

Leave a comment and let me know, I'm hungry of feedbacks ! 💭💭

Have a good one !
