Challenge

Implement all features that the client is used to find in the current tool.

The software needs to allow users to perform the same tasks as before, without having to learn a new tool.

Besides keeping the archive structure, it's necessary to implement an effective and smart navigation system.

Design Strategy

Users need to find at least the same features but with a different design and style. This doesn't mean that it's simply a redesign of the same system, because it's a whole new software.

So, for this project particularly, non stop collaboration with the development team was essential.

After the initial UX research and technical requirement analysis, it was time for user personas and user journeys.

Finally, analyzing and sorting through ideas from previous brainstorming, the first low-fi prototypes were born.

The archive is a directory tree: Archivio > Categorie > Sottocategorie > Progetti.
