Hendrix • Red House 1969/94
Part of a series of visual experiments in concept print collateral, exploring the life and work of Jimi Hendrix. Experiment 3 focused on Hendrix's iconic appearance at Woodstock, New York 1969.
Hendrix's style was firmly rooted in the blues. Red House was a classic 12 bar blues written in 1966. A posthumous recording of the performance was released in 1994 entitled 'Live at Woodstock' featuring the song. Listen to the incredible Red House performance 🎶
This experiment was a re-imagining of the Red House print collateral, exploring large, high impact Neo Grotesque typography, and a red and black palette set against the vintage photography.
