Salzburg AG: Empowering energy communities – Case Study
Hey there! 👋
Today I'm happy to share the result of the project we've done recently.
The EU ‘Clean Energy For All’ package is part of a policy framework overhaul in 2019, aimed at triggering a move away from fossil fuels towards cleaner energy - and, more specifically, to deliver on the EU’s Paris Agreement commitments for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and attaining carbon neutrality by 2050. Austria has set a target of sourcing 100% of its energy needs from renewable sources. Through new government regulations, users are now able to participate in community-shared electricity consumption where members of a community can share their surplus energy with consumers within their communities.
Salzburg AG is a company that makes this change possible. We were asked to prepare the UI/UX design for the early-stage development green energy-sharing platform. During the project, we had an opportunity to create a complete product prototype and validate it with the first participants.
