Candy King App
Candy King App is a Danish mix-it-yourself candy app. The idea for the app came from digital development and how you could digitize even sweets. The project was developed in a group as part of the final project on the multimedia study program. The app was developed for the company Candy King.
The goal of the project was to give the user the same free opportunity to mix their own candy bag digitally as physically.
The candy-filled app
The app is built around a user-friendly design with a fixed menu at the bottom.
The first thing you are greeted with after logging in is the candy bag - just like the first thing you find in the candy store is the bag, so you can start mixing. Here you have an overview of how much candy you have mixed in the bag. This is also where you start mixing.
For the app to be a success, it is a criterion that it contains a wide range of different types of sweets. This is because it is the assortment that is decisive for where the target group mixes sweets (result from survey).
In order to retain customers and get them to use the app again, loyalty has been created through a stamp card. For each bag of candy purchased, a stamp is received, which eventually provides a benefit for the customer.
A fun packaging
During the project, a lot of work was put into the candy bag/packaging, colors and print. The bag had to be different and appealing to the classic paper or plastic bag. The inspiration for the shape came from the classic packaging shape for caramels.
A candy inspired campaign
The campaign for the sweets app was planned both physically and digitally. The campaign consisted of an animated video of candy entering the screen and moving down into the candy bag. At the same time, the candy bag changes color depending on which flavor it is.
Physically, the campaign is presented at public transport locations such as bus stops and train stations.
Digitally, social media such as Instagram and Facebook are used.
