Vintage Botanical Illustration Cactus Poster Design

This collection of posters is inspired by botanical illustrations from the 18th-19th centuries. I explored the capabilities of the Image Trace tool in Adobe Illustrator crafting a dabbed paint style. The spikes of the cactus required lots of cleaning to get them looking right. For the font I chose a pastel pink to reference the beautiful flower. The sliced line represents how the art of botanical illustration has been cut off from its historical roots and supplanted by photography.
