Product Page of E-commerce Website

6 of 15 ways we’d improve the product page UX of an e-commerce platform is by showing ‘price per unit’ for products sold in varying quantities.

This seemingly minute info holds water for some people. Providing ‘cost per ounce’ as a detail on the product page allows for easy comparison against similar items. The idea is that people should be able to rely on their own arithmetic skills to compare prices across products sold in varying quantities.

Exclusion of this info could thwart the possibility of bulk orders on that site. And as such arithmetic exercise happens at crunch time, any disruption could result in dissatisfaction or abandonment.
