The Cloak Room

The Cloak Room is an enchanting store stocking all things spirituality & crystals. After a magical first year in business, they wanted to polish up their branding & deliver a sparkling presence.

They requested a primary and secondary logo, as well as some packaging.

My first thought was to incorporate the moon into the logo; I didn't want it to be the primary focus, but I wanted to use it in a clever way. To do this, I modified the "O" in "Cloak" to create a nice crescent shape. I also wanted to incorporate some illustrations; I took a sort of "oddities & curiosities" approach to the rest of the design & branding, choosing critters and interesting plants to use in the logo and patterns. More specifically, I chose a centipede, nightshade flower, budding fern, and the classic Death's-Head hawkmoth.

I had a lot of fun designing the branding for this company, so much so that I came up with the cover of an astrology pocketbook that they might sell in the store as one of their products.
