Sushi Cat
I've really been on a bit of a Gouache bender lately. My love for watercolor goes back to high school, but once one uploads their brain to Photoshop one tends to forget how fun it is paint with actual paints and brushes.
This character drawing is a long overdue piece for a friend. She requested a kitty, and I decided to up the ante by integrating our shared love of sushi into it.
My recent time at Creative South also inspired me to put together my first ever time-lapse! All of the wonderful artists at the conference were so generous with their time and their knowledge that it reminded me how valuable that has been to me as a self-taught artist. It is with this in mind that I resolved to start sharing my process more, as a way to pay it forward in honor of the many artists that have contributed to my growth.
