The Concept

A series of activity books for preschoolers. The theme of the book is derived from the products offered by the brand ‘Gulab Tribe’. There are three books in the collection - one for Language, one for Mathematics, and one for Art.

The Brand

Gulab Tribe features wooden toys that are handcrafted by artisans in Etikoppaka, in the district of Visakhapatnam. The toys are meant for kids ranging from 0-5 years of age. These toys are child safe, made out of natural materials and dyes.

The Activities

The activities are inspired by the toys that the brand offers. For example, one of the products is a peg doll set that is supposed to painted by the child. In one of the activities, the child is required to group similar coloured peg dolls together. This way the activity relates to the products.

Art Style and Tone

The art style is in line with the brand logo. Flat colours are be used along with a scribble effect to replicate a child’s sketch. All forms are soft and rounded, with no sharp corners. Characters familiar to the brand are designed to have a child-like appearance. The book is made conversational such that the characters guide the child regarding through the activities. The characters have conversations among themselves and with the reader. Simple language is used to replicate a child’s speech.
