Update to Equine Supplement Website

The Company
Southern Equine Distributing is Canada's manufacturer of Equine Omega® Complete, an all-in-one supplement for horses. They are currently working with veterinarians to conduct studies on how EOC® helps to reduce ulcers and prevent cartilage damage in horses, and the results have been very promising. They also offer a Canine product, Canine Omega Complete®, and a handful of other products for small animals, humans, and the stable.
Considerations
The initial meeting brought a few technical considerations to light. First, the company works with veterinarians to conduct studies on the product's efficacy and needed a place to store the written reports of these findings for public viewing. At the time, this information was being stored and presented on Shopify, which created presentation problems due to its design restrictions.
The company's competitors are already established in the marketplace, and a clean, professional website was needed to convey the quality of the company and establish its products as a serious choice for consumers.

Platform
We used two separate platforms for this project: Shopify, to house the products, and WordPress, to house the research, articles, and other informative material. The sites are connected via URLs in the main menu bar and the footer; the eCommerce site utilized the subdomain "shop". Both websites were designed similarly to give the impression that users were not leaving the website when visiting the online store/reading research materials.
Research, Articles, Blogs
Previously, studies, blogs, and other information was hidden within submenus on Shopify; we created an "Articles & Studies" page on WordPress to house all of these articles. We created and implemented tags to ensure that the type of content was made clear.
