Informational Display Cards for Shatter

One of the most important parts of running any sort of retail business is displays. When I first began working with Grow Room, they were handwriting all of their display cards on construction paper with sharpies. The task here was to create a design that would be both accessible--easy to ready for all types of customers (they have many elderly and disabled patrons)--and educational. I wanted to make it easy for people to gather the most important facts at a clance: Strain name, type, and THC percentage.

Behind the Design:

The imagery behind the text bubble was chosen for its resemblance to shattered pieces. In fact, I literally looked up "shattered" when looking for elements to use in the design. Shatter is a type of cannabis extract that is thin and fragile, usually some shade of amber, and when broken it "shatters" much like glass. If stored properly, you should be able to snap off little pieces of it quite satisfactorily. As someone who has recently become quite enamoured with shatter as a form of cannabis consumption, I wanted my design to reflect that.

Fun Fact! The process of making shatter extracts the oils from the cannabis plant, which can contain about 90% of the cannabinoids, making it highly potent.
