UI Design Portfolio

Hi everyone 👋. My name is Natalia, and I'm a Mentor at Dribbble UI Design and Product Design Courses. I've created this Case Study as a guideline to help you with your design portfolio. If you are looking for feedback, feel free to share your case studies in the comments⭐

Let's start with Cover image! Choose a beautiful image that will be the first in the case study and the thumbnail for the whole project!

Project overview

Design brief

Short introduction with background and context.

  • Insert 2 or 3 sentences about the goal of project.

  • Insert 2 or 3 sentences about scope/specification of work.

  • Insert 2 or 3 sentences about target audience(s).

You can include an image of the sticky notes, or leave out an image.

Scope of work and results

Explain what exactly needs to be created, including the format, functionality, screen numbers, etc.

Tell about yourself

Identify your role in the project and list the responsibilities you had throughout the project.

Moodboards

Document moodboard. Include text notes to add descriptions or explain your thinking.

Insert 2 or 3 sentences about:

  • your process of conducting visual research;

  • inspiration, references and keywords.

Only include good quality images and pieces of design on a moodboard.

Visual exploration

Introduce the style and the visual language. Share your rationale behind visual design decisions.

Feel free to create multiple shots showing your final design. You can also create a carousel with multiple images. It's totally up to you!

Lock & Scale design

Set up a tone and overall visual aesthetic. Show how did you scale the design on all the wireframes you need to produce.

UI library

Document type and color system. Include a preview of master components.

Prototype*

Insert a link to the prototype to give a solid representation of how a design will behave and feel.

*Optional

Takeaways and next steps

Outcome / Results

Write up what you learned throughout the project. For example: 'by doing this Case Study, I learned to refine from a concept to a scalable design'.

Insert 1 or 2 sentences summarizing the impact of your design on user/target audience(s) and project.
