Murder wasp

I made this illustration for my friend Esi Hutchinson's short story collection Insect Lore. Esi wrote the stories for her thesis when graduating from RISD in 2020. Here is an excerpt from a story about honey bees and northern giant hornets,

"The honey bees swarm one hornet and flutter their wings so much that is raises the carbon dioxide to a lethal level, cooking the hornet alive.”
