Rounded Joints in Illustrator

How to achieve rounded joints in Illustrator in 2 different ways.

This is a little tip I shared in the workshop at Creative South 2015.

// CC USERS.
Make sure your paths are turned to outlines. Go to VIEW and show corner widget. Direct selection tool and select the point in the corner. You'll see a little circle icon appear. Drag this downwards to curve the corner.

// CS6 & BELOW USERS.
Draw a circle and place in the corner as show. Make sure it's butted up against the sides. Click on the shape builder tool and then click on the clear space in between the circle and type. This will then create a shape in the space and you can delete the circle.

Hope that helps.
