Scythians is an SS Fashion Campaign inspired by Breast Cancer Survivors.

The story behind...

Scythians is an alternate name for the Amazons warriors. By combining their story with modern women who fought and won cancer but lost their breast, this campaign is born.

In Greek mythology the Amazons were a race of courageous and fiercely independent, warlike women. They’ve were great hunters who thrived in archery. To master the art of archery it is known that they cut their breasts for better aiming.

One of the main side effects of breast cancer is mastectomy. Plastic surgeons and oncologists aggressively promote breast reconstruction as a way for women to “feel whole again”. Many patients are choosing to defy medical advice and social convention and remain breastless after breast cancer.

Location

Scythia was an ancient country inhabited by the Scythians and is considered the place of origin of the Amazons .The Pamir Mountains lie mostly in the Gorno-Badakhshan Province of Tajikistan.

Still Life

Still life is a photograph without models. It usually contains some of the main pieces of the campaign. In this case, the Still Life is inspired from the queen of the Amazons, Hippolyte and will contain the one of the headpieces and a shoe.
