Rejseplanen Redesign - Case Study

I am extremely excited to unveil the redesign concept for the Rejseplanen app that I have been working on for a while.

What is Rejseplanen?

Rejseplanen is a public transportation app and website that is used in Denmark. Users can enter their origin and destination, and the app will provide them with a list of possible routes and travel times. Rejseplanen also offers real-time information about delays and disruptions,

Some Background Information

I have been using Rejseplanen for a long time and have always been interested in redesigning the app as a personal project. To begin, I looked at the company's own user data and found that 60% of Rejseplanen's users are under 25 years old. It seems to me that the current app does not effectively cater to this younger demographic. With that in mind, my goal is to create a more youthful and enjoyable app experience for these users.

The Goals of the Redesign

  • The app needs to be more engaging and fun for younger users and be focused more towards them.

  • Users should be able to manage and pay for their tickets directly within the app

  • Rejsekortet is the primary way to pay for trips in Denmark. A digital version is currently being tested, so I want the app to fully support it.

  • The app's map should also be streamlined and less cluttered.

  • Improve the app's navigation flow by making options more visual and clear, and ensure that important pages are not hidden behind hamburger menus.

  • Include an account system so that users can save their previous trips, payment methods, stats, and other information.

Welcome To "Your Page"

I have designed a new page specifically for your travels with Rejseplanen. This page displays your followed trips, the balance and status of your linked Rejsekort, previous trips you have taken, and various other relevant details.

Account System

In order to support the new ticket system and user profile, an account system was necessary to allow users to save their trips, stats, address, Rejsekort, and payment methods.

The New Brand

Almost all aspects of the brand have been redesigned, including a completely new logo and wordmark, overhauled colors, a new attractive font, addition of shapes, and a new icon pack.
