Tasting Bourgogne White

Obviously, Bourgogne isn't a daily table wine, but we tried a reasonable and relatively inexpensive Bourgogne white. I'm not an expert, but I prefer the French Chardonnay because the American Chardonnay has a bit of a strong oak flavor and is too sweet for me. As I was drinking my California Chardonnay, my son noticed the deep color and said, "Why are you drinking engine oil?" Of course, there are tons of great Chardonnays from the New World, but unfortunately, I haven't come across one of them yet.
