The Pale King - alt cover

An alternate cover I designed for The Pale King. A sort of existential horror novel about the crushing weight of bureaucracy, I thought to model my cover off of most American's primal fear: the IRS Form 1040 Individual Tax Income. As Wallace's posthumous, unfinished novel, I wanted a death certificate-like coldness to the design. Like all his work, the depth comes from literally reading in-between the lines, containing all the necessary information while pushing back through humor.
