DGWLK - A Case Study
DGWLK is a mobile application that provides a dog walking service. The goal of this design was to create a dog walking application for users who did not have a lot of free time on their hands. The target market of this application is between the ages of 25-35.
Role: Product Designer Tool Used: Figma
The Problem
Owners do not have enough time in their day to walk their dogs. They also want to be able to build up trust between their dog and potential dog walkers.
Research
During the research phase, I interviewed three dog owners to better understand their needs and what would make them want to use a dog walking service. All interviewees agreed that reliability, affordability and trust were factors in choosing a dog walking service.
Key Findings
Analyzing the Market
I collected market info and analyzed branding and visuals. I found that most companies offered reliable, trustworthy products that vetted their Dog Walkers.
Who would benefit from this Product?
Once research was complete, I was able to visualize and construct a persona out of my findings. Meet Marianna.
User Flow
Knowing that dog owners don't always have enough time in their day, I tried to make the sign up process for my product as easy and painless as possible.
Wireframes
I developed a low fidelity wireframe to piece out the mvp. I ended up having the sign up process done in two solid steps. Once sign up is complete, you are directed to a map where potential dog walkers await!
Visual Designs
Once I received feedback from my mentor, I was able to start adding colour and developing a mood board based off of my research and persona.

Testing
After prototyping my mockup, I was finally able to test it out with potential users. I received some great feedback and was told that the prototype was easy to understand and user friendly.
Outcome
My goal from this course was to try to understand what exactly goes into the product design. I believe that I am now more comfortable with the process and would like to investigate further into product design. I would like to fine tune my skills in Figma and in design so that I can create better products in the future.
