Logo Design for the Graphic Design Services Company

It took 3 evenings for me to complete the task for the Design Contest. This event was facilitated by Corporate Source — the graphic design company from Winnipeg. According to the contest's rules, participants need to design a new logo for the company.

🥑 1 Day. I started by analyzing the local competitors and their identities. During my job search in Canada, I studied the job market. So, I had a general view of trends in the branding of Design Agencies and IT companies. Then was the process of searching for references on Pinterest.

These activities helped me to ideate two opposite concepts for the logo design. I began to pick up fonts.

⠀

🥑 2 Day. Was dedicated to the work with fonts and graphics. I checked almost 30 fonts, 4 of which I chose and then 2 of them were used in the final design.

After compositing the layout, I added two different graphic elements. The first one is a wireframe of one of Winnipeg’s landmarks. The second is just a simple geometric shape with a symbolic meaning.

⠀

🥑 3 Day. I finished the final edits and prepared the short presentation for my mockups. I consider that presentation is an essential part of every design. It shows the way designers think and the reasons for their decisions.

⠀

🥑 Summary. A contest is a great way to work in stressful conditions. It helps to increase your performance speed and broaden your creative horizons.
