Voice Bot

This CUI was designed as part of the 14 days daily conversation design challenge organized by Ryan, Hillary, & the UXWC team.

Day 11: Multimodal log in

The goal of this challenge is to write a dialogue between a smart speaker and its user, instructing them to log into the account so that the speaker can access the application.

Thought process:

The voicebot (Ellie) first confirms hearing the user's command. In the follow-up message, Ellie informs the user that there is a problem, prefaced by the stance-implicative token "hmm" to suggest an upcoming utterance as somewhat dispreferred (i.e., not fulfilling the command). Ellie then explicitly states the problem and instructs the user on what she needs to do to track their orders. The user replies that she could log in on her end, and Ellie acknowledges this action with a positive assessment token "great." After the user logs in, Ellie confirms the log-in action, reports what information she sees, and asks the user for input.
