Save The Date

As a female graphic designer, and being in a relationship for seven years, naturally, I’ve always been intrigued by wedding designs. After getting engaged at the end of 2013, I knew I had to take full advantage of the opportunity to design and create as much as I could for our wedding. I started with the save the dates. We knew immediately that we wanted to stay far away from the ‘standard refrigerator magnet showcasing a photo from thecouple’s engagement photo shoot’ epidemic that’s been going around for quite a few years now. My [then] fiancé travels for a living, so I thought it would be clever to have our save the dates created into postcards. I designed a very simple 'logo' to provide the necessary information. As if that wasn’t cool enough, we stepped into the wonderful world of screen-printing. We bought large sheets of chipboard, cut them into 4 x 6 rectangles, exposed the screens with the finalized design, and then went to it. Yes, it was a very tedious process, but it was 1000% worth it after seeing how cool they came out. All of our guests were super impressed and even more excited about our wedding than I could imagine.
