Gold Quest - a narrative-based exploration game

A university assignment in which I had to use the narrative theme of a treasure hunt to create an experience for users. The treasure hunt uses audio-visual elements to deliver the narrative elements to the users.

The highlighted approach to the application is the use of key elements like audio, narrative and a collection system to give users a unique experience while they explore and learn more about the city in which the hunt is based.

The process of development for this application lasted a semester which was around 10 weeks. It began with idea development which created the overall idea and narrative as well as the theoretical frameworks for which the application would feature.

After this, an initial prototype was developed in order to begin testing the idea as well as the strength of the concept. A testing plan was developed to help create a clear path through the process. Standard user testing was the process here, users were asked to complete a set of tasks through the mobile version of the application in which their time was tracked and a questionnaire was given post-testing.

After this updates and changes were made based on feedback and reflection, the second round of testing featured the use of a focus group to gain further feedback and approval before the final submission of the application.
