Screw the cistem

“Screw the Cistem” is a sexual-education project iniciated by VICE. The way we get teached about having sex is very outdated. The focus is mainly on how to not get pregnant or STD’S. Also it’s very heteronormative orientated and doesn’t cover all the different types of genders and sexualities. It’s time for sex ed that is more satisfying than this! Teens should learn that sex can be fun too, how to ask and give consent, how to discover to whom they feel attracted too and where to go if you feel uncertain about your gender. I really enjoyed drawing the different couples, intersactions and body types! This is exactly the kind of jobs I feel very strongly about!

This illustration is inspired on a scene from the series “Sex Education” which I really loved and inspired me to make this illustrations. It’s very rare to see people with disabilities on screen and especially in intimate scenes. I feel it’s vert important to show inclusive image of society and all the beautiful connections that are existing in it!

I think this is a fun image of two queer people playing and flirting.

This one is about growth, going through puberty and feeling that you’re flourishing. Instead of teaching kids and teens that discovering your body and sexuality is scary or dirty, I like to present how beautiful and fun it can be!

Gender is fluid and it can change in time. If you feel more “feminine” or “masculine”, how you want to dress and to whom your attracted to.

I think these two are so cute and in their own little bubble. They are embracing and dancing at the same time. They feel safe to explore what their relationship is or is going to be. They feel accepted and loved and want to share this moment together.

Since this lesson module would be for smaller kids as well I was not able to draw very explicit sex scenes but they asked me to draw inclusive and diverse couples. I like that these two are fooling around and probably started as play fighting but end up in a different “game”.
