Political polling app UI redesign | Lazarev.
🗳 What a day to be a politically aware citizen! (actually, just like any other day 😉)
No matter the exact date, mood, or weather, every day in ActiVote, a mobile social app destined for the US electorate, is good for making decisions. Its main interactive function is about asking voters one question a day to engage a habit of voting; users can also share their opinions with others and monitor political events.
Let’s talk more about the app’s UI 👀
While fully renovating the app’s aesthetics, we decided to go with a minimalistic official (but not douchy) approach. Our mobile app redesign included a dark background, white cards and panels, dividers, and sharp corners - all aiming to set a very determined and decisive mood.
There’s a subtle line between an official and douchy, of course - so not to cross that, we added splashes of five bright colors (red, blue, purple, yellow and orange). To make it understandable on a subconscious level, we tied each color to a political party. By the way, a bill page has a color gradient so that people can tell which party filed it.
