Turquoise Desert Taproom

Logo concept for a New Mexico taproom that offers comfort food and cold beer.

The client already had a logo that featured a bull skull with the Zia sun symbol behind it, but wanted to include a reference to their slogan - "Diamond In The Rough".

I redesigned the graphic to add balance and give it a contemporary feel. The diamonds are incorporated as drop earrings and the color palette simplified. 

As for the type, to make the design more youthful and fun, I decided to go with all uppercase letters and a funky sans serif paired with a hand-drawn script.
