Eclipse of the Red Moon - Book Cover

This university brief objective was to come up with a fictional book cover. The intended audience was for young adults into the supernatural and psychological genre, so i used darker undertones for this project. I made the choice to call the book 'The Eclipse of the Red Moon'. The book cover builds up interest from the appearance. I used a red moon and mist to show danger and give a sense of eeriness at the top half of the book. For the lower half, I shrouded it in a shadow of red, only leaving the top of the castle unaffected, making the person seeing the cover of the book that it might lead to something. As well as adding an outer glow to the title giving it that nighttime glow.

As for the back of the book and blurb, I decided to add an image of a secluded highway, making the person reading make the situation feel surreal. Furthermore, emphasising certain words by putting them in bold to entice the reader. As for chapter pages, it consists of two images showing how lifeless and dire the ordeal is for humanity , giving the sense of hopelessness. In which both the back page and chapter images are enveloped in red and empty.
