App Store lacks good apps for downloading content from Instagram. This is why me and my friend, who codes for iOS, decided to create Insty — a simple app that does what it does. Nothing more.

Our goal was to design an app that would let people download Instagram posts with least possible taps. After a lot of thinking our order of taps looked like this:

1. Copy link from Instagram
2. Open Insty
3. Tap the screen to see “Paste”
4. Paste the link
5. Tap “Find”
6. Tap “Download”

That was already far beyond other apps, but we did not stop there. Several weeks into testing a new solution struck us — automatising steps 3 and 5. In that way the number of taps got reduced to only 4:

1. Copy link from Instagram
2. Open Insty (“Paste” appears automatically)
3. Paste the link (Download Page opens automatically)
4. Tap “Download”
