While the traditional Cap Tables are managed in the spreadsheets and company ownership is issued on paper certificates. Some of the companies still use their lawyers' to issue paper securities and model their Captables in the excel spreadsheets and the founders end up with, no single source of truth, expensive shares and ESOP grants, time-consuming processes, loss of security certificates, etc.
