SOLA device is a concept for solar energy counter and monitoring system.

The idea is to help people track, control and manage the amount of solar energy produced and consumed in their households.

Laws of many countries limit the amount of solar energy produced by people/organizations due to technical (political, economical) constraints, so it becomes important to control and manage the energy flow to keep it within limits.

Imagine the IoT device that can be connected to existing electrical systems and allow users to control their solar energy production and consumption remotely from Mobile, Desktop and/or Web App (sort of Nest Thermostat for solar energy.)

Also, the extra energy that is produced could be fed back to the public grid allowing owners of solar panels to get discounts on energy consumed from the grid or even earn money from overproduced energy.

And of course, there's a lot of potential for a positive impact on the environment with greater control over how much you can save energy and reduce your CO2 footprint.
