Daily UI 004 - Life Balance Calculator
This is a concept for what a life balance calculator might look like. I didn't do much with the color concepts at this time, since today's time was limited, which is why I named it V0.1. Also, as I write this, the sleep should be larger and "green" sleep hours should be between 49 (7 hours per night) and 63 (9 hours per night), anything more than 63 would then go to red as sleep would be out of balance.
Conceptually, the app would take events from your phone's calendar and allow you to designate it as a certain category as designated by the user (there would be some default categories available, but the user could designate as many categories as they would like); and could potentially integrate with Google calendar's (or iCalendar) user designations or the user's color coding within their calendar. The user could also just add the events directly to the app, and there would be a calendar within the app so a user wouldn't have to access multiple apps to have a full understanding of their time use.
After calculating the amount of time attached to each category, it would then use the user's designations for each category using an evidence based questionnaire for each category, and then provide an estimate of the user's life engagement compared to their risk of burnout so that the user can feel more empowered by this knowledge to begin reducing work hours, increasing social outreach, or improving their sleep schedule.
Conceivably this could be useful for employers who wish to understand the ways in which an employees time-use can affect their overall productivity, work satisfaction, and life satisfaction, and would hopefully engage employers to reward employees for engaging in healthy sleep habits, social habits, relaxation habits, and self-education habits. (I.e. Aetna insurance rewards its employees for healthy sleep habits with a bonus $ amount; although the preference would be rewarding good habits with additional PTO accrual).
