GiddyUp GetAway

GiddyUp GetAway® is an online platform designed specifically for equine enthusiasts to help each other. Travelers can map their trip and easily find layovers along their route.

Goals of the project

The client needed a web application that:

  • Let hosts set up a hosting property and manage their properties/payouts/calendars

  • Let travelers search for destinations/book a destination/manage their reservation

Information Architecture

For the host side of the product, I created an Information Architecture diagram to align with stakeholders on the organization of the app.

User journey

I then created a user journey flow to show the desired pathway that a host would take to set up a property.

Mockups

Due to the strict timeline of this project, I had to combine the wireframe and high-fi mockup phase into one.

Final Prototype

This is the final prototype of the application.

The Solution

To address the pain points identified in the problem section, I proposed a sleek, friendly user interface that streamlines the booking process and makes it easier for users to find the information they need. The new design features the following elements:

- A clear call-to-action on the homepage that directs users to the booking form. An intuitive booking form that only asks for essential information and dynamically updates to show available options based on user inputs.

- A clean, simple layout that prioritizes important information, such as room type and availability, and allows users to easily compare different options.

- A detailed home description and photos section that provides users with all the information they need to make an informed decision about their lodging.

- Integration with popular payment gateways to provide a seamless checkout experience.

To validate our solution, we conducted user testing with a group of representative users. Participants found the interface to be user-friendly and efficient, and were able to complete the booking process without any significant confusion.
