Living Scourge book

Design, layout, photography and illustrations. Modern design for Slovak literature classic Živý bič (means Living Scourge). The novel describes the change of society from the old establishment of monarchy towards new modern more democratic one. The design as the story is divided in two. First book which describes the old era of monarchy is illustrated in a veristic way with photography and serif typeface. Second book which describes enthusiasm and hope in new modern era is illustrated in modern style with abstract structures and sans typeface. Pink paper underlines the optimism of new. Book works with photographs and illustrations symbiotically. Photographs are from personal archive. Structures and illustrations are tailor made for the book.
