Akureyrarvaka 2011

Akureyrarvaka is an annual town festival, held on the last weekend in August that is closest to Akureyrarbær's birthday on 29th of August. The festival is full of diverse events and experiences where visitors and townspeople enjoy events together.

The font is specially designed from scratch, the color palette is chosen to reflect the diversity of the festival, and the surfaces above and below the letters refer to the steps that lead to Akureyri Church.

The logo was submitted to a design competition.
