Chicago Bulls City Connect Jersey "Da Bull Butcher" Concept

While we wait for the Chicago Bulls & Nike to announce their 2022-2023 City Connect Jersey, I thought it would be fun to explore a few concepts. This concept explores the roots of the team's name which was named after the meat packing industry that lasted in Chicago's Union Stockyards from 1865-1971. Chicago Bulls play at United Center in Chicago's west side. This area also was the grounds in which much of the country's meats was process and distributed across the country feeding our nation. During its peak more meat was processed through these stockyards in Chicago than anywhere in the world. To honor this era and pivotal moment in Chicago's history, Chicago's NBA franchise was named the Bulls. The Jersey is cream/ beige colored to represent the waxy butcher paper the meats were wrapped in. The red and white pipings around the collar and sleeves mimic the marbling of fat and meat found on butchered meats. The script word mark adorns the chest of the jersey's front as a nod to the signage styles of this era. Finally a small meat clever secondary logo is used in the back of the jersey. The Union Stockyards may be gone but its legacy leaves on. The vacant meat packing warehouses in Chicago's West side is home to some of the country's top restaurants and Chicago's unbelievable meat restaurant scene.
