The Hendrix Experiments • Exp/1: 'HENDRIX IS GOD'

The first in The Hendrix Experiments: a series of short visual explorations paying homage my all-time favourite guitarist. Amazingly, Hendrix's mainstream career only spanned four years.🤘

The title is a play on the popular 1960s meme "Clapton is God". Hendrix used to play a right-handed Fender Stratocaster guitars restrung upside down. Flipping the type around the x and y axes was a little nod to this.

Experiments like this are of course limited, as you're not solving a real design brief. I see them as an opportunity to explore aesthetic ideas unconstrained and gently research a topic I find interesting.

Oh and if you're a fan of Hendrix, you'll enjoy this posthumous song "Somewhere" — the drop in the intro is absolutely filthy! 🎸
