My Weapon is a Melody

If you know me, you know I can’t sing. Like at all. 

There are plenty of musical people in my family but that is a trait I did not inherit. 😂

And yet, I don’t think there is anything quite like belting out a worship song that, despite our inadequacies, is one of the best defences against the fear and darkness and worry that creeps into our lives.

Like how do we stay in grief when we sing lines like “I’ve tasted your goodness, I’ll trust in your promise?”

Music is a gift and, paraphrasing CS Lewis a bit here, quite possibly the greatest reminder of heaven this side of the grave.

And so, despite my lack of tune and shaky rhythm, I’ll do my best to return that gift, singing loud and often, in victory and defeat.Personal Project
