Bushfired Shea Nut Charcoal Brand & Packaging

This incredible charcoal is a bi-product of creating shea butter. The maddest part is - it's carbon negative?!! Still cant get my head around that but the manufacturer assures me it is and they have the data to prove it.

I wasn't keen on the name as I think it has negative connotations in the UK with instant barbecues and wildfires but they insisted so my job was to reflect its African origin and make something that stood out on the shelf.

I looked at African pattern design and typefaces to create something that looks a bit different and my favourite aspect was convincing them not to use a sack but instead go for the cardboard boxes, which are 100% recyclable and fit the shaped briquettes perfectly.
