Breaking for Mac

Today we're launching our very first dual platform app: Breaking – Add local news, your favourite blogs or anything else that comes with a feed as a Today View widget in OS X Yosemite & iOS 8. Breaking is basically an easy and uncluttered way of staying on top of what’s new in your world.

We've been using Breaking for the past few months and we're all hooked – it's such a simple way to stay on top of feeds that you care about. I find myself swiping down on my phone most of the day (or two finger edge swiping on my Mac) to see if there's anything new.

This shot is the Mac App Icon – the idea was to play on the concept of a wave breaking where the wave consisted of a rolled up newspaper. It's really tricky to come up with something original in this space that has to do with news and feeds – but I'm quite happy about the concept we ended up with.

I'll rebound the iOS icon counterpart as there was some interesting platform specific changes.
