The Cross Playing Cards ⚜️ pt. III

The Lion and the Lamb

⚜️

Here the back of the Cross Playing Cards tuck box (Admiral Angels Edition). Every space of the tuck is filled with deep christian symbolism and ornate designs. Two main aspects of the artwork are the Lamb of God and the Lion of Judah. Both animals stand for attributes of Jesus Christ and what he achieved on the cross. Jesus is indeed the Lamb of God and the Lion of Judah.

⚜️

»Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!« John 1:29 (ESV)

The Lamb of God (also known as »Agnus Dei«) as the perfect and spotless sacrifice wipes out the sins of the world through his blood and thereby makes access to the Father possible. The lamb stands for the death of Jesus Christ on the cross.

⚜️

»Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.« Revelation 5:5 (ESV)

The Lion of Judah stands for the King of Kings and the victory of Christ on the Cross. He conquered sin by being obedient to his Father even unto death and rose from the dead on the third day. This is the true and royal hope of all people who believe in Him. He who is worthy to be worshipped.
