S is for Squeezits, next in the 90sNibbles series! I loved Squeezits back in the day! I couldn't wait to grab the bottle from my lunch bag, twist the top off, and squeeze as hard as I could to get the optimum amount of juice in one gulp. I sure did "Squeeze the fun out of it!"

Squeezits launched in 1985 and when they added characters to the bottles in 1992, the fruit drink really shook things up. The lineup of personalities included Smarty Arty Orange, Silly Billy Strawberry, Grumpy Grape, Mean Green Puncher, Rockin' Red Puncher, Berry B. Wild, and Chucklin' Cherry. They discontinued the fruit drinks in 2001, but they made two reappearances, once in 2006 and again in 2012. Maybe we should start a petition to give Squeezits a comeback!

Of the group of characters, Chucklin' Cherry proved to be a fruity favorite, and snippets of his bio could be found on Squeezit packaging. In his story, his name was actually Chester Cherrytree. He loved math class, jammed on his skateboard to relax, and could be found hanging out with his BFFs, Berry B. Wild and Silly Billy Strawberry. And his favorite "super saying" was, "A chuckle a day keeps the doctor away." Chucklin' Cherry and I would definitely be friends IRL.
