How can a digital solution help businesses streamline their workflows?

Being a curious person, during one of my frequent phone calls with a friend who lives in Italy, I asked ‘what is the most critical task for someone working in the food industry?’.My friend promptly answered saying that organising the order of supplies is one of the most challenging tasks for people working in the food industry. Usually ordering supplies happen when the serving of clients ends. The person in charge of ordering the supplies (usually chef, cook, director, owner for restaurants) physically inspect the warehouse of the restaurant and with paper and pen lists the products that are about to finish. After listing the products, the person in charge will go to the office and using the application on the company computer will select the items from the list and send the order to the supplier via email. The order gets delivered usually in about 3 days. A payment request will then be sent to the restaurant. Is there any opportunity to improve the request and delivery process for business operating in the food industry?
