Rebels & Renegades

Illustration for a music festival brings that the hippies and the cowboys together with killer music, interactive art stations, a local makers marketplace, and delicious food.

The client envisioned a design inspired by the rebellious spirit and storytelling culture of Americana, outlaw country, bluegrass & folk. 

I created a piece centered around a horseshoe and a tree. On the sides are two skulls, a male and a female one, in cowboy hats. On top is an animal skull, surrounded by the sun, the moon, and a star. Below is a pair of cowboy boots with snakes wrapped around them and two cacti next to a campfire. 

The color palette is inspired by fall and the desert; the main type is a hand-drawn sans serif, and the secondary is a freehand script.
